Separate the evidence

An official squad list, a match-day team sheet and a journalist’s predicted line-up answer different questions. A player travelling with the squad does not prove they will start. Check what the source actually establishes before repeating a claim.

Consider the role

An absence can matter differently depending on the team’s system, alternatives and schedule. Avoid treating every missing player as equally important. A returning player may still have limited minutes; distinguish that possibility from a confirmed playing-time restriction.

Keep analysis conditional

Explain what may change if a selection is confirmed and update the analysis when the team sheet appears. The final line-up still does not make the result certain. Commercial odds and partner offers are separate from the editorial evidence used to understand a match.
